Hepatitis B vaccination services in Lagos

Hepatitis B is one of the most common infectious diseases in Nigeria, and vaccination is the single most effective way to prevent it. At ExCare Health, we provide Hepatitis B vaccines for adults, children, and newborns at all our pharmacy and clinical locations across Lagos.

Whether you need your first dose, a booster, or a complete three-dose course, you can walk into any ExCare branch without a prior appointment. Our pharmacists and clinical staff will check your vaccination history, advise on the right schedule for you, and administer the shot on the same visit.

Who should get the Hepatitis B vaccine?

The World Health Organisation recommends Hepatitis B vaccination for everyone. In Nigeria, the vaccine is part of the National Programme on Immunisation for newborns, but many adults were never vaccinated as children. If you have never received the vaccine, or if you are unsure of your status, getting vaccinated now protects you against a virus that can cause chronic liver disease and liver cancer.

The vaccine is especially recommended for healthcare workers, people with multiple sexual partners, individuals who require regular blood transfusions, and anyone living with someone who has Hepatitis B.

What does the vaccination involve?

The standard Hepatitis B vaccination course consists of three injections given over six months. The first dose can be given on the day you walk in. The second dose follows one month later, and the third dose comes five months after that. Each injection takes less than a minute, and most people experience no side effects beyond mild soreness at the injection site.

For newborns, the first dose should be given within 24 hours of birth. ExCare provides birth-dose vaccinations at our clinical locations, and our team can guide new parents through the full immunisation schedule.

How much does it cost?

ExCare offers Hepatitis B vaccination at competitive prices across all our Lagos branches. Pricing may vary depending on the vaccine brand available. Contact your nearest branch or send us a message on WhatsApp for current pricing.
